The first Bridge to Bridge Joint Development Committee meeting is set today at the Port of Kennewick administrative office.
The committee, set up by a joint resolution of the port commission and the city of Kennewick, is expected to make recommendations about collaborative development strategies for downtown revitalization.
The meeting runs from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. at 350 Clover Island Drive.
The committee members are: Sharon Brown, Kennewick mayor pro tem, Skip Novakovich, port commissioner, Larry Peterson, port's director of planning and development, and Jeff Kossow, Kennewick's executive director of economic development. One at-large member will be chosen by the committee.

WALLA WALLA -- Major changes are in store for Port of Walla Walla meetings in 2012.
Port commissioners said they will invest in audio equipment to record their minutes. They also are shooting to decrease the length of their meetings and relocate all their work sessions to the port's administrative office.
The changes were agreed to during a daylong budget retreat earlier this week.

Port of Kennewick wants to improve access at Duffy's Pond
Improving community access and recreation opportunities around Duffy's Pond may become part of efforts to revitalize downtown Kennewick.
Port of Kennewick commissioners received an update Tuesday about working with the city of Kennewick and the Army Corps of Engineers on a plan to develop Duffy's Pond.
Improving public access to the pond would complement the port's improvements on Clover Island and build on efforts to redevelop Columbia Drive, said Tana Bader-Inglima, Port of Kennewick director of governmental relations and marketing.
