Kurt Lindemann's two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning proved the difference as the Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak beat the Twin City Titans 6-4 in the American Legion AAA state tournament at Carlon Park in Selah.
"Solid effort by both teams," said Titans assistant coach Pete Marquez. "They played well and we played well."
Drew Oord hit a double and a triple and drove in a run for the Titans, and Zach Rapacz also doubled and had an RBI.
Twin City will play Centralia at 3 p.m. today in a loser-out contest.
Earlier, the Kennewick Bandits rebounded from Wednesday's loss to the Titans with an 8-3 win over the Yakima Beetles, eliminating their Central Washington League foes.
Bryce Jackson drove in four runs and Ty Jackson struck out 10 over six innings for Kennewick, which plays another loser-out game at noon today against the Spokane Bandits.
