Los Lonely Boys head to Wildhorse for July 25 show

Dori O'Neal, Herald staff writer

Los Lonely Boys might have their musical roots in Tex-Mex but you really can't pigeon hole the musical style of this band of brothers.

Their blend of pop, rock, blues, soul and country only complements their Latin rhythms. See for yourself when the Los Lonely Boys perform July 25 at Wildhorse Casino in Pendleton.

The group includes the Garza siblings: Henry, 32, on guitar, Jo Jo, 30, on bass and Ringo, 28, on drums.

Their break-out single, Heaven, reached No. 1 on the Billboard adult contemporary charts and No. 16 on Billboard's Hot 100 list in 2004. The song also crossed over to the country charts, where it peaked at No. 46.

The next year Heaven also earned Los Lonely Boys a Grammy for best pop performance by a duo or group. Their songs More Than Love and Onda also earned Grammy nominations in 2006.

The boys come by their musical savvy naturally, according to their website. Their dad, Enrique Garza, played in a band with his seven brothers during the '70s and '80s. Their dad even sings on their 2006 album Outlaws.

Henry, JoJo and Ringo took their music to Nashville in 1990, but moved back to their native Texas in 2003 where they released Los Lonely Boys at Willie Nelson's Pendernales recording studio.

It didn't take them long to build a following, which was enhanced when the boys recorded I Don't Wanna Lose Your Love with Carlos Santana for the Santana album All That I Am in 2005.

Tickets for the Los Lonely Boys concert are $15 for festival seating and $35 for preferred seats. There also are VIP seats for $75.

Tickets are available at www.wildhorseresort.com or by calling 800-494-TIXS.

The concert is the first of two outdoor summer concerts at Wildhorse. The next show features country crooner Clay Walker on Aug. 8.
