FAIRBANKS, Alaska -- If this is how things are going to go in the Indoor Football League, then get ready for a wild ride.
Fairbanks quarterback Matt Bassoenor tossed a 2-point conversion pass to wide receiver Anthony Parks in the fourth overtime to give the Grizzlies a 69-67 IFL victory over the visiting Tri-Cities Fever on Monday.
It was the Fever's first game in the IFL, while Fairbanks goes to 2-0.
The marathon game lasted four hours and finished just after midnight PST.
Fever quarterback Andy Collins, a native of Zillah, passed for six touchdowns and ran in for another score as Tri-Cities overcame a rough start in the first half with just 6 points, trailing 20-6.
Bassenoer finished with four TD passes and another one rushing.
The lead changed hands five times and the game was tied another six times. Fairbanks looked to have the game wrapped up in regulation, leading 41-34 with less than a minute remaining, when the Fever's Blair Boynton intercepted a tipped Bassenoer pass.
Collins then hit Thyron Lewis with a game-tying score from
8 yards out with 36 seconds remaining to force overtime with the game tied 41-41.
No final statistics were available at press time.

Not once, but twice during the 2012 season.

The Tri-Cities Fever added another quarterback to its roster this week, signing Kasey Peters out of Rocky Mountain College in Montana.
The Fever had already re-signed last season's starting quarterback, Houston Lillard, last week.
Peters, a three time NAIA All-American, is 6-foot-3 and weighs 225 pounds. He passed for just over 10,000 yards in the three years he played from 2008-10.
