OTHELLO -- A 49-year-old woman suffered injuries in a car accident two miles south of Othello on Monday evening.
Teresa Lynn La Mere of Moses Lake was taken to Othello Community Hospital with neck and back pain after another vehicle collided with hers about 6 p.m.
Javier F. Delaogomez, 23, of Othello, ran a stop sign at Highway 17 and Bench Road, the Washington State Patrol said. Delaogomez, who was driving a 1990 Honda Accord, ran into La Mere's 2004 Hyundai Elantra.
He was cited for failure to stop and lacking car insurance.
Delaogomez was not injured, but both cars were totaled.
Officers reported neither drugs nor alcohol was involved.

A Yakima man rolled his car Tuesday night after he swerved to avoid an animal on Highway 24, about 22 miles west of Othello, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Christopher J. Mendoza, 18, of Yakima, was driving his 2000 Chevrolet Lumina eastbound at 7:10 p.m when he swerved, lost control, rolled. The car came to a rest on its wheels on the eastbound shoulder of the highway, the state patrol said.
Mendoza was injured and taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. No information was available on his condition. His car was totaled.

OTHELLO -- A Connell man was injured late Friday after he lost control of his vehicle five miles south of Othello.
Jesus M. Matavaca, 21, was southbound on Highway 17 near milepost 24 around 11:40 p.m. when his 1999 Volkswagen Jetta rolled and came to a stop off of the road on its wheels.
Matavaca apparently was driving too fast for the road conditions, according to the Washington State Patrol.

A Kennewick man was injured when his car was hit by a pickup on Highway 17 near Warden around 5:30 a.m. Saturday.
Michael J. Shaffer, 30, was driving northbound on Highway 17 when Robert L. Cisneros, 41, of Othello, turned left onto the roadway from Highway 170.
Cisneros failed to yield, said the Washington State Patrol, and his 1987 Ford Ranger pickup was hit by Shaffer's 1998 Nissan Altima.

YAKIMA A Yakima man was injured on State Route 24 west of Othello Tuesday night after he swerved to avoid an animal in the road.
Christopher J. Mendoza, 18, was driving eastbound 22 miles west of Othello when the State Patrol says he swerved his 2000 Chevrolet Lumina off the road to avoid an undisclosed animal, which caused the car to roll and land on its wheels on the eastbound shoulder.
Mendoza was wearing a seat belt and police said no drugs or alcohol were involved, but he was charged with driving with his wheels off the roadway, according to a news release from the Washington State Patrol.
