Information meetings on Kennewick School District's dual language program are planned this week.
Parents or guardians of students entering kindergarten in August who want to enroll their child in the program must attend one of the sessions.
The meetings are at 6 p.m. today and Tuesday at Edison Elementary, 201 S. Dawes St., and 6 p.m. Feb. 17-18 at Hawthorne Elementary, 3520 W. John Day Ave.

PROSSER -- Prosser building and police officials will hold informational meetings today to discuss the city's new Crime Free Rental Housing and Inspection Program.
The program aims to reduce crime in rented homes and apartments through improved communication between police and landlords. Several other Yakima Valley cities, including Yakima, Toppenish and Sunnyside, have similar efforts.
The program is scheduled to take effect Jan. 1. The meetings are at 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. in the Prosser City Council Chambers at City Hall, 601 Seventh St.

Columbia Basin College is offering a new accredited program in aerospace machine maintenance.
The program has been created through a Governor's Investment in Aerospace grant. The meeting will be at 8 a.m. Monday in the CCTE building, Room A-203 at 2600 N. 20th Ave., Pasco.
The seven-month program is limited to 12 students. Tuition, lab fees and tolls will be about $2,500 during the three quarters of study.

Members of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association, Tri-Cities Chapter 1192, will celebrate their 40th anniversary when they meet at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Clearwater Room C at the Kennewick Red Lion Hotel on Columbia Center Boulevard.
The doors open at 11 a.m. with lunch, a business meeting and a program to follow at noon. Members will have a chance to socialize and look at chapter memorabilia before and after the meeting.
Lunch reservations are due by 6 p.m. Sept. 4.
