WENATCHEE -- Behind five champions and eight finalists, Moses Lake ran away with the CBBN 4A district wrestling title Friday for its third straight crown.

The Chiefs piled up 316 1/2 points, pulling away from Wenatchee (277) after leading the Panthers by a single point after Friday's opening rounds.

The top five placers in each weight advance to the Eastern Washington 4A regional next week at Richland.

Freshman Beau Gleed started a run of champions for Moses Lake, winning the 103-pound title when Richland's Josh Andrews injury defaulted. David Peralez (125), Nico Moreno (140), Brian Chamberlain (215) and Kabe Fluaitt (285) followed suit for the Chiefs.

Richland finished third with 154 points behind titles from state veterans Kyler Mars at 112 and Dustin Utecht at 130. Utecht reversed an earlier loss to Chiawana's Nick Garcia --who goes down as the new school's first district finalist -- with a 9-2 decision.

Southridge's Ely Garza rolled to the 119 title with three pins and then a 14-5 major decision over Moses Lake's Andrew Valdez in the final.

Kamiakin's Sisto Santana Pina was the only other freshman to win a title, capturing the crown at 160. His brother, senior Giovanni Pina, finished second at 171, and teammate Pedro Mendoza was a runner-up at 145.

Cody Rush finished second at 152 to help Pasco finish fourth in the team standings. Walla Walla's Eric Eastman also was a runner-up at 189.

Kennewick, despite not having any finalists, finished fifth in the team standings with seven moving on to regionals.
