The Port of Kennewick is getting a $50,000 grant from the Economic Development Administration to study what to do with the former Tri-City Raceway.
The money, along with a $50,000 matching grant from the port, will be used to study the best use for the 92-acre property that the port bought for $1.75 million in 2008.
One possibility is to use the land to support the region's wine industry.
"This feasibility study will help revitalize the city of Kennewick and support the surrounding area's viticulture related business," said Tana Bader-Inglima, the port's director of government relations.
