OTHELLO -- An Othello man was injured Saturday morning when his vehicle slid on icy Highway 17 and rolled over, the Washington State Patrol said.
Gerardo Laireano-Alejandro, 28, was taken to Othello Community Hospital for treatment of minor cuts and bumps and bruises, the patrol said.
His 2000 Chevy Malibu was northbound about four miles north of Othello shortly before the
8 a.m. crash, the patrol said. Speeding likely contributed to the accident, the patrol said.

OTHELLO -- One man was injured Saturday after a driver failed to yield on an Othello highway, said the Washington State Patrol.
Ramon Cantu Jr. of Othello was southbound in a 1996 Saturn approaching Highway 26 around 6:50 p.m. when he pulled out in front of a 1997 Oldsmobile driven by Manuel Zapata-Dominguez, who was heading east and approaching First Street, the patrol said.
Zapata-Dominguez, 37, of Othello, was transported to Othello Hospital. Cantu, 21, was uninjured, the patrol said.

Unsafe passing is to blame for an early morning Wednesday crash about six miles north of Pasco that sent two Othello women to the hospital, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Rosa I. Mendoza, 20, of Othello, was driving a 2003 Honda Accord south on Highway 295 behind a slow-moving semi-truck about 6:44 a.m., the state patrol said.
Another semi-truck, driven by Delores Gutierrez Lopez, 47, of Dinuba, Calif., was turning south onto Highway 395 from Phend Road when Mendoza pulled out from behind the slow-moving truck and attempted to pass it. She struck Gutierrez Lopez's 1997 Mack truck, the state patrol said.

Pilar A. Bazan, 27, of Othello, died early Sunday in a single-accident crash on Highway 395 north of Pasco.
The Washington State Patrol said the Othello woman was a passenger in a 2002 Ford Explorer driven by Alejandra Cardona, 25, also of Othello.
Cardona reportedly overcorrected her northbond SUV at 3:30 a.m., causing it to overturn and hit a light pole about 10 miles north of Pasco.

KENNEWICK -- Spenser Tyler Hubbard, 21, was arrested by Kennewick police Friday in connection with the Sept. 17 burglary of the URM Cash and Carry grocery store on Fruitland Street in Kennewick, police reported.
Police obtained a description of the burglar from a surveillance video at the story and identified him as Hubbard.
Around 9:10 p.m. Friday, police received information that Hubbard was seen near Columbia Drive and Fruitland Street and advised local businesses to keep an eye out for the suspect. During a patrol of the area, Officer Aaron Hamel saw Hubbard walking across Fruitland Street near Columbia Drive and attempted to stop him, but the suspect fled on foot.

A Yakima man rolled his car Tuesday night after he swerved to avoid an animal on Highway 24, about 22 miles west of Othello, the Washington State Patrol reported.
Christopher J. Mendoza, 18, of Yakima, was driving his 2000 Chevrolet Lumina eastbound at 7:10 p.m when he swerved, lost control, rolled. The car came to a rest on its wheels on the eastbound shoulder of the highway, the state patrol said.
Mendoza was injured and taken to Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. No information was available on his condition. His car was totaled.
