DAYTON Ski Bluewood announced this morning that its opening day will be Wednesday.
The family-owned resort recorded 16 inches of snow from 5 a.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. today. As of 7 a.m. today, there was a base depth of 32 inches, with 47 inches at the top.
The resort plans to operate Wednesdays through Sunday for the rest of the season, including Thanksgiving Day.
Lifts operate 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The lodge open at 8:30 a.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. weekends.

In Western Washington, forecasters expect 1-to-2 inches of snow Tuesday then 5-to-10 inches on Wednesday before precipitation turns to rain on Thursday with temperatures in the 40s.

Snow, possibly mixed with rain, is expected to start falling in the Tri-City area after 4 p.m. today, according to the updated forecast of the National Weather Service.
The weather service is predicting a 60 percent chance of precipitation, although initially it’s expected to fall as snow just at elevations of at least 600 feet.
Much of the Tri-Cities is at 400 feet.
