Kennewick man held after door-kicking call

By Paula Horton, Herald staff writer

A 33-year-old Kennewick man was arrested early Friday after he allegedly kicked in the front door of a Kennewick home where he thought his ex-girlfriend and children lived.

Kennewick police were called to the 3400 block of West First Place at 2:50 a.m. when the resident heard somebody trying to break in, said Officer Michelle Pitts.

The resident told dispatchers the previous tenants had apparently tried to break in before, she said.

When officers arrived, they found Jesse Hoverson inside the house, she said. After they pulled out their Taser guns and Hoverson saw the red dot from the stun gun fixed on him, he complied with their orders and was arrested without issue, Pitts said.

It was unclear if Hoverson was a previous tenant, but he reportedly said he thought he girlfriend and his two children lived there, she said.

Hoverson was booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of residential burglary.
