Pawn shop alerts cops to man selling hot tools

By Paula Horton, Herald staff writer

A Kennewick man ended up in jail instead of with extra cash in his pocket after he was found trying to pawn stolen goods at a Kennewick shop, police said.

Gary Michael Bush, 47, tried to pawn some stolen tools Thursday afternoon at Ace Jewelry & Loan on Entiat Avenue, said Kennewick police Officer Michelle Pitts.

The shop owner was on alert to watch for people trying to pawn tools and when Bush went in, they called police.

Bush was arrested at the shop and booked into the Benton County jail on suspicion of first-degree theft and first-degree trafficking stolen property.
