A 25-year-old man pleaded innocent to charges he helped slash the tires on at least 35 cars in Kennewick on Halloween night.
Jonathan Jacob Kozelisky of Kennewick faces trial Jan. 11 for first-degree malicious mischief.
Court documents say Kozelisky and two juveniles "used knives and a machete to slash tires and break out windows" on the cars. The damage, estimated at $10,000, was in the area around 19th Avenue and Dayton Street.
The two juveniles also were arrested last week, but court records didn't show any charges against them Wednesday.
Defense attorney Todd Harms, standing in for Kozelisky's court-appointed lawyer, asked the court to grant release on his personal recognizance. Kozelisky has no history of felony convictions.
But Judge Robert Swisher, after reading the allegations against Kozelisky, noted "that's substantial damage to a lot of people, so I am going to set bail at this time."
Swisher agreed with the prosecution recommendation of $7,500.
