Woman pleads innocent in marijuana sales case

By Kristin M. Kraemer, Herald staff writer

A Kennewick woman is set for trial Jan. 25 on allegations she sold marijuana from her apartment to supply her own use of the drug.

Elizabeth Marie Thursby, 25, pleaded innocent to one count of delivery of marijuana.

A confidential informant who was working with Kennewick's Criminal Apprehension Team was sent to Thursby's home twice in October to buy marijuana, court documents said. The informant was driven to the area by an undercover officer and given marked money to complete the transactions, documents said.

On the first occasion, the informant came out after two minutes. The second exchange allegedly took about three minutes.

Thursby was identified by the confidential informant as the person who sold the pot, court documents said.

During a later search of her apartment, officers found six bags of marijuana packaged for sale, scales, smoking devices and a "quantity of cash," documents said.
