KENNEWICK -- The Arena Football One league of which the Tri-Cities Fever is a member lost another team this week.
It has been confirmed by several sources that the Arkansas Twisters are leaving the AF1 and will join the Indoor Football League.
With Arkansas leaving, just five teams remain -- Tri-Cities, Oklahoma City, Bossier-Shreveport, Tennessee Valley and Central Valley -- in what is expected to be in the Tier 2 portion of the two-tiered AF1.
Fever general manager Teri Carr said that the team would play a 16-game schedule in the new league that is a combination of former Arena Football League and arenafootball2 league teams.
But how that schedule will look remains a mystery, now with only four other teams left in the division to play.
Carr said she is expected to make an announcement today regarding the league.
-- The Fever was assigned quarterback Collin Drafts, the sixth player coach Pat O'Hara has signed for the upcoming season.
Drafts, who was in his second stint in Tri-Cities last season, played in five games, going 2-2 as a starter for the 3-13 Fever.
He completed 93 of 160 (58 percent) passes for 1,072 yards and 21 touchdowns and threw eight interceptions -- leading the team in each category.
