Second Harvest Tri-Cities has been awarded one of 16 grants nationwide by Con-Agra Foods Foundation and will receive $16,250 to augment food donations to the 50 food banks and meal centers it serves.
The grant was one of the $221,000 in Nourish Our Community Awards given annually to nonprofits that provide exceptional service in communities where ConAgra operates.
Second Harvest Tri-Cities was nominated by Lamb Weston Inc., which employs more than 1,300 people in the Tri-Cities.

Second Harvest Tri-Cities will receive a $6,966 donation, thanks to participation in ConAgra Foods Lamb Weston's Free Fries Fryday and the Free fries Fryday Facebook fan page.
For each free serving on July 29, Lamb Weston agreed to donate 10 cents to Second Harvest Tri-Cities.
For every new fan on the promotion's Facebook page, Lamb Weston promised to donate $1 to the nonprofit food bank.
