PENDLETON -- The National Weather Service warned of possible damaging 40 mph winds with gusts to 60 last night and this morning in parts of Western Washington.
But in the Tri-Cities, winds will be less at closer to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.

If you thought it seemed windier than usual last night, you were right.
Gusts measuring more than 100 mph were recorded overnight at the Hanford weather station, while gusts in the 50-60 mph range were recorded elsewhere on the site.
Currently, wind at Hanford is 17 mph, according to Weather Underground, and is expected to drop a bit to 10 mph throughout today.

The National Weather Service has issued wind advisories which are in effect until 4 p.m. today in the Tri-City area.
Forecasters say sustained south winds at 20 to 30 mph will whip through the area, with gusts of up to 45 mph and local gusts up to 55 mph. The Hanford area could see sustained wind speeds of 30 to 40 mph, gusting to 60 mph.

Gusts of up to 38 mph and sustained wind speeds of 25 to 28 mph are expected today in the Tri-Cities by the National Weather Service.
Winds should die down tonight, and patches of freezing fog overnight until 10 a.m. Friday could make roads slick in places.
More patchy freezing fog is forecast for Friday night, Saturday morning and Saturday night.

This could be the sunniest day of the week, but there will be some wind.
A sustained west wind of 11 to 17 mph is forecast with gusts up to 28 mph in the Tri-Cities.
