All-CBBN football: Southridge trio land POY honors

By the Herald staff

A strong season for the Southridge football team led to a lot of Suns shining in the Columbia Basin Big Nine's postseason awards.

Brent Anderson, Dallin Palmer and Austin Graves all received player of the year mentions on the Columbia Division team, voted on Sunday by the league's coaches.

Anderson shares offensive lineman of the year honors with Wenatchee's Mike Marboe, while Palmer and Moses Lake quarterback Dylan Signorelli split the offensive POY vote.

In a surprise move, Graves is the only POY named on the defensive side. Wenatchee's Jacob Sealby and Scott Devereaux are the MVP and coach of the year, respectively, on the Columbia team.

Not surprisingly, the Cascade Division is dominated by Eisenhower, the only CBBN team still alive in the state playoffs.

Kamiakin junior receiver and kick returner Tim White was tabbed the offensive player of the year, and Walla Walla's Zack Sumerlin was named offensive lineman of the year along with Ike's Abel Soto.

The Cadets' Joe Fuerst and Ryan Watson share MVP honors, Seth Kline is defensive POY and Dan Eyman coach of the year.
