Girls 3A state volleyball: Ones to watch

By Rene Ferran, Herald staff writer

KENNEWICK -- Here are some of the players expected to shine at this weekend's 3A state volleyball tournament at Toyota Center:

OH Annie Arnzen, soph., Mount Spokane: Wildcats' rise to prominence in the Greater Spokane League began with her promotion late last season.

OH/MB Gabby Bird-Vogel, jr., Seattle Prep: The 6-foot-2 Bird-Vogel had big matches against Blanchet in both the Metro League and Sea-King District championships.

S Deedra Foss, sr., Lakes: No coincidence that Lakes' consecutive state trips after a 31-year drought coincide with Colorado State recruit's career.

OH Rachel Hanses, jr., West Valley: Finished second in the CBBN in kills per set (3.9) and also averaged 3.4 digs for Rams.

S Camryn Irwin, sr., Prairie: Oregon recruit helped lead Falcons to state berth after another dominating Greater St. Helens season.

OH Kristyn Ross, jr., Capital: Western Cascade Conference MVP had 26 kills and 17 digs in five-set district final loss to Camas.
