YAKIMA -- Brooke Gibbons had 27 kills, Laryn Wells furnished 36 assists and 15 blocks and Shannon Jorgenson was 32-for-32 from the service line as Connell survived the first round of 1A state volleyball tournament at the SunDome in Yakima.
Connell fell in three to Castle Rock in its first matchup of the day 25-15, 25-23, 25-13, but came back for a 25-27, 25-21, 25-18, 25-21 defeat of Cascade Christian.
