Umatilla Depot alarm Wednesday a false alert

HERMISTON -- The public alert system for the Chemical Stockpile Emergency Preparedness Program was turned on by accident just before noon Wednesday.

There was no emergency related to the Umatilla Chemical Depot, said the Umatilla and Morrow counties emergency management officials.
