A January trial has been set for two Franklin County jailers accused of using connections with inmates to start a marijuana operation.

Kevin Still, 44, and Sonya Symons, 31, both of Pasco, pleaded innocent Monday to federal drug conspiracy charges in U.S. District Court in Yakima.

Still, a 21-year jail veteran, is charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana and attempted possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

Symons, who's been a corrections officer for six years, is charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana and distribution of marijuana.

Both remain free from jail pending trial, which was set for Jan. 11.

Symons' brother, Troy Green, 29, of Spokane, also faces the same trial date after being charged with conspiracy to distribute marijuana, attempted possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana with intent to distribute.

The charges carry a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

The three defendants were arrested Oct. 22 after an investigation by the Tri-City Metro Drug Task Force, Drug Enforcement Administration and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.
