An associate professor of history at Washington State University Tri-Cities in Richland will mark the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall with a lecture 7 p.m. today.
Brigit Farley's lecture is called, "It was 20 years ago today: Reflections on the end of the Cold War, 1989-2009." Farley will talk about how the world has changed because of the historic event.
The lecture is part of the Liberal Arts Season of Events put on by the Richland Arts Commission.
There's no charge and the public is invited.

James Wong Howe: From Pasco Pioneer to Hollywood Legend exhibit opens at 10 a.m. Sept. 17, Franklin County Historical Museum, 305 N. Fourth Ave., Pasco.
Guest filmmaker Sarah Lee Monroe will be on hand for a lecture on the legendary Hollywood cinematographer and Pasco native, James Wong Howe.

Brian Schwartz will give a presentation on Science as Performance: Communicating and Educating through Theater, Music and Dance starting at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 in the theater at Columbia Basin College.
Schwartz is a professor of physics at the graduate school at City University of New York.
