The Umatilla-Morrow Education Service District will sponsor two free workshops Nov. 16 aimed at helping parents of children with disabilities.
The first, "Are We There Yet? Moving To and Through Adulthood With a Disability" is from 1 to 3 p.m. "Behavior and the IEP: Supporting Students, Understanding Systems" is from 6 to 8 p.m.

The workshop will feature scientist David Johnston from GNS Science, New Zealand, and Dave Nelson from the state Emergency Management Division, who will present the results of a study assessing the earthquake risk in Eastern Washington.
The workshop will be from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday at the Walla Walla County Legislative and Public Health Building, 314 E. Main, second floor.

RICHLAND -- The Columbia River Exhibition of History, Science and Technology is offering an all-day workshop in the art of flintknapping. Participants will learn how ancient peoples shaped stone and try it themselves. An illustrated manual, a set of basic knapping tools and knapping materials will be provided.
