HERMISTON -- Hermiston High School's Project Graduation Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Nov. 17 at the Hermiston High Library.
Project Graduation is a drug- and alcohol-free party held on graduation night. Parents of Hermiston High juniors and seniors are invited.

HERMISTON -- The Hermiston Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Leadership Hermiston program through Thursday.
The 10-month program includes a full-day session the second Tuesday of each month designed to expose participants to issues facing the community. Topics will include agriculture, technology, economic development and education.
Nonrefundable tuition cost is $600 for chamber members and $850 for nonmembers.

Test drive a new Ford and help raise money for Prosser High or Hermiston High extracurricular activities.
From 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Tom Denchel Ford Country of Prosser will donate $20 to Prosser High for each person who test-drives a new Ford.
A test-drive runs seven to 10 minutes. Participants must be 18 years or older and have a valid driver's license. There is a limit of one test-drive per household. The event will take place at Prosser High School, 1203 Prosser Ave.

Ex-Kennewick man will appear on 'Biggest Loser'
Former Kennewick resident John Rhode will be on the this season's TV show Biggest Loser starting tonight.
He is a graduate of Kennewick High School in the class of 1988.
Rhode now lives in Mesa, Ariz.

HERMISTON -- A Family Health & Fitness Day is set from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Hermiston High School, 600 S. First St.
The free event includes "Tour de Hermiston," a 1 1/2-mile family bike ride with rewards at each checkpoint, a bike rodeo and helmet fitting, vendors and activities, a teddy bear clinic (bring a bear or get a new one) and a variety of screenings including hearing, vision, dental, foot, skin, cholesterol, blood pressure, cardiac risk, colorectal cancer, respiratory and stroke.

Richland High grad to 'play' at White House
A Richland High School graduate will be at the White House on Saturday to volunteer at the Worldwide Day of Play.
Kristy Gauthier, a 2004 Richland High School grad, was a varsity gymnast and soccer player. She is attending Yale University as a graduate student of public health and physician assistant studies.
Co-sponsored by Nickelodeon, Worldwide Day of Play is a celebration of being active and healthy. This live program features celebrities, athletes, kids and families. There will be live performances as well as sports competitions.
