A 30-year-old Kennewick man is in jail on $200,000 bail on charges he sexually assaulted a grade-school girl numerous times over 21/2 years.
Patrick Gale Wilson pleaded innocent Thursday in Benton County Superior Court to first-degree rape of a child.
His trial is set for Dec. 14.
According to court documents, the girl told an elementary school counselor about the sexual abuse.
The victim was able to describe the acts and the items used during the rapes "in great detail," wrote Deputy Prosecutor Anita Petra.
The case was investigated by the Benton County Sheriff's Office. The crimes allegedly happened between January 2007 and September 2009.
Defense attorney Sal Mendoza Jr. was appointed to the case Thursday. He told the court he would wait to address the high bail until he's had a chance to talk with his client.

A Kennewick man pleaded innocent to charges that he sexually assaulted a young girl, which was disclosed after a boy came forward with similar allegations.
Brian Lloyd Haisch, 18, is set for trial Nov. 7 on one count of first-degree child molestation.
He was arrested last week by Kennewick police, who began investigating the alleged sexual abuse in June after two other kids made claims against Haisch, court documents said. The incident allegedly happened in 2007.

PENDLETON -- A 70-year-old man was ordered Monday to serve six years and three months in prison for sexually assaulting a young girl in Milton-Freewater.
In addition to the prison time, William Allen Koston Sr. must write a letter of apology to the victim, complete a sex offender package, register as a sex offender for the rest of his life and do four years of supervision after his release.
The sentence was handed down in Umatilla County Circuit Court by Circuit Judge Christopher R. Brauer.
