RICHLAND The game held no meaning in the standings.
Richland and Rogers -- two teams that didn't reach the postseason -- were simply playing out the end of their respective seasons Thursday night at Fran Rish Stadium.
But for Bombers coach Mike Neidhold, it was an exciting look at the future.
Running backs Jake McKinney, a junior, and B.K. Robinson, a sophomore, combined for 272 yards and four touchdowns on 24 carries between them to lead Richland to a decisive 47-15 win over Rogers.
McKinney led all rushers with 159 yards on 18 attempts and finished the evening holding the Bombers' single-season record for carries with 219.
But on a night Richland bid farewell to its 20 seniors for a job well done, it was a sophomore who shined the brightest. Robinson saw his first significant action this year, carrying seven times for 112 yards and three touchdowns.
"We had Jake going one way and B.K. going the other," Neidhold said. "In our system we like to have three guys who can run the ball, including the quarterback."
Richland established the run in a hurry, starting at its own 37 on the opening drive and handing off five straight times to McKinney for the first score just 1:46 into the game. The offensive line opened up gaping holes all night for McKinney, who finished the season with 1,271 yards.
Rogers came back the other way on a 15-play drive to take a 7-6 lead, but Richland scored the next 34 points to take control of the game.
"We knew we could move the ball on offense," McKinney said. "The line had four (Rogers) guys pancaked on defense."
In all, Richland running backs finished with 327 yards on 39 carries, an 8.4-yard average per carry. Quarterback Chris Hayes added a pair of touchdown passes to tight end Garrett Gallinger.
"All the seniors got quality minutes, and we had a lot of young kids playing big," Neidhold said.
Davis 22, Chiawana 14
YAKIMA -- Jordan Downing ran for 136 yards and a pair of first-half touchdowns to give Chiawana a 14-0 halftime lead, but Davis rallied to earn its third win of the season -- its most since 2000.
Mitchell Vinsant scored on runs of 62 and 51 yards, the second one giving the Pirates the lead in the fourth quarter.
Lewis & Clark 31, Kennewick 6
SPOKANE -- Jeff Livingston threw for a touchdown and ran for another as part of Lewis & Clark's second-quarter explosion as the Tigers (6-4) built a 24-0 halftime lead en route to victory.
KC Hooper's 1-yard TD run in the fourth allowed Kennewick (3-6) to avoid a shutout.
