Spuds, suds meet for Friday fundraiser

The third annual Spuds & Suds will be held from 6:30 p.m. to midnight Friday at St. Joseph's Dillion Hall, 901 W. Fourth Ave., Kennewick.

Spuds & Suds features an all-you-can-eat baked potato bar with all the fixings and microbrews, plus music by the Thunder River Boys after 7:30 p.m. You must be 21 to attend.

The cost is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Advance tickets are available through Thursday at St. Joseph's School and Parish Offices, 901 W. Fourth Ave., Ice Harbor Brewery, 206 N. Benton St., and Ice Harbor at the Marina, 350 Clover Island Drive, all in Kennewick.

The event is sponsored by the St. Joseph's School Parent Teacher Organization and Ice Harbor Brewing Company, along with Kamiak Vineyards, Watts Brothers Farms and Lamb Weston.

Cookbook authors gather for holidays

SEATTLE -- Chef and restaurateur Tom Douglas is holding the fourth annual Ultimate Holiday Cookbook Social from 4 to 7 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Palace Ballroom, 2100 Fifth Ave., Seattle.

The event will feature 21 Northwest chefs and cookbook authors armed with stacks of their works to personalize for a holiday gift.
