Kennewick investigates shots fired incident

By Paula Horton, Herald staff writer

Kennewick police are investigating a report of shots being fired late Sunday near Kennewick Avenue and Newport Street.

Dispatchers received three different reports around 11 p.m. about gunshots on the 1200 block of West Kennewick Avenue, police said.

Officers responded but were unable to locate any suspects. A witness saw a man running toward Palouse Street, while other witnesses saw two men running east and then west on Kennewick Avenue, police said.

Officers found three .380-caliber shell casings in Kennewick Avenue at Newport Street, police said.
