It's nice to see the WHL brass take notice of Brendan Shinnimin.
The Americans forward was selected to play for Team WHL in the Subway Super Series, making him the fifth Tri-City player (others were Chet Pickard, Carey Price, Logan Stephenson and Shawn Belle) to earn a spot on the team over the years.
The selection had to be a no-brainer for the men in charge. Shinnimin leads the Americans in scoring with 10 goals and 14 assists and ranks fourth in league scoring.
Shinnimin will play in just one of the two games hosted by the WHL -- Nov. 25 in Victoria, British Columbia. The second game of the series is the following night in Kelowna.
The Subway series is an integral part of the evaluation process for Team Canada's World Junior Championship selection camp in December.
Shinnimin wasn't a household name in the WHL last year, but the way he's been playing this season, he just may catch the eye of the right guy and earn an invite to the WJC camp.
