Freshman Stephanie Tixier earned state qualifying times and set school records in back-to-back events, and Hanford won 11 of 12 events to dominate West co-champs Eastmont and Wenatchee at Saturday's CBBN championship meet in Moses Lake for the Falcons' first league title since 2000.
Hanford outscored Eastmont 118-67 and Wenatchee 113-72 in a three-way contest which Falcons coach Kathy Piper said was a first in the recent memory for the league.
"But it worked well," she said. "It was nice to swim two schools, and there was no doubt who was better at the swim meet today."
Tixier posted state times in the 100-yard butterfly and 100 freestyle.
"An amazing back-to-back swim," Piper said.
State times were also swum by junior Christine Tixier in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay team of sophomore Melissa Merrill, Christine Tixier, Stephanie Tixier and senior Stephanie Heeney.
"It was a total team effort and a lot of fun," Piper said.
