MOSES LAKE -- Freshman Stephanie Tixier earned state qualifying times and set school records in back-to-back events, and Hanford won 11 of 12 events to dominate West co-champs Eastmont (118-67) and Wenatchee (113-72) at the CBBN championship meet in Moses Lake for the Falcons' first league title since 2000.
Tixier posted state times in the 100-yard butterfly and 100 freestyle.

RICHLAND -- Richland's Lisa Bratton posted state qualifying times in the 200 freestyle (1:57.41) and 100 backstroke (1:02.28) on Saturday in a nonleague dual meet against Ballard at George Prout Pool in Richland.
Hanford's Stephanie Tixier and the Bombers' Sarah Olsen posted SQ times in the 100 butterfly. Tixier was first with a time of 59.94 seconds and Olsen placed second in the race with 1:00.53.
Melissa Merrill clocked 54.52 in the 100 freestyle to garner another SQ time for the Falcons' squad, and Richland's Carly Garland scored 140.65 to finish first in diving.

WALLA WALLA -- Hanford's Melissa Merrill swam to first-place in the 100 breaststroke with a state-qualifying time of one minute, 10.41 seconds during CBBN 4A/3A double dual action at Whitman College.
Merrill has qualified for state in 11 of 12 events.

RICHLAND -- Richland's Lisa Bratton qualified for state in the 100-yard freestyle event with a first-place time of 55.38 seconds as the Bombers earned a 117-69 victory over Moses Lake in CBBN 4A swimming Saturday at Prout Pool.
In the 3A ranks, Hanford's Melissa Merrill earned state-qualification times in the 200 freestyle (2:00.97) and 100 backstroke (1:03.35), and Southridge's Kate McLaughlin posted an SQ in the 100 butterfly (1:01.59) as the Falcons bested the Suns 114-71.
Merrill also was the Falcons' leadoff swimmer in the state-qualifying 200 medley (1:57.37) and 200 freestyle (1:45.53) relays, which also featured teammate Stephanie Tixier, who clocked 54.79 seconds in the 100 freestyle event for an individual SQ.

FEDERAL WAY -- The Richland and Hanford girls swim teams tied for first place with 438 points apiece as the east-side dominated the field in the Mukilteo Invite at King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way.
"Richland was leading going into the last relay," Bombers/Falcons swim coach Kathy Piper said of the tight race. "It made for quite an enjoyable bus ride home, both of them having won today."
Richland's Lisa Bratton dialed up the lone meet record with first-place state-qualifying time of 2 minutes, 5.87 seconds in the 200 IM race.
