Suns can tighten hold on second place with win Thursday

Southridge can take a big step toward locking up second place in the CBBN Columbia tonight when it travels to Edgar Brown Stadium to take on a reeling Pasco team.

The Suns are coming off a shutout win over Davis last week, while the Bulldogs dropped their third straight after a 2-0 start, falling 22-21 at home to Sunnyside.

Southridge moved atop the CBBN defensive rankings with its 28-0 win over Davis, leading the league by allowing only 191 yards per game. The Suns are No. 2 in run defense (70.4 ypg) and points allowed (9.4 ppg), and junior Dallin Palmer is fifth in the league in rushing (520 yards) and a league-high nine TDs.

Pasco has the No. 3 pass offense in the league, directed by senior QB Josh Morris (888 yards, 8 TDs), who has spread the ball fairly evenly among his top three receivers -- seniors Austin Wilborn (19 catches, 175 yards, 1 TD), Jacob Price (18-205-3) and Marques Avery (16-404-4).
