The Richland School Board is holding three community forums to gather feedback on what to look for in a new superintendent. Jean Lane is retiring at the end of the school year.
Here's the forum schedule:
w 7 p.m. Thursday at Chief Joseph Middle School.
w 3:30 p.m. Sept. 29 at Enterprise Middle School.
w 7 p.m. Sept. 29 at Richland High School.

The Kennewick, Pasco, Richland and Columbia school districts announced schools are closed Friday because of the snow and ice affecting the Mid-Columbia.

What school district would chuck a school bus to make room for a lawn mower? "We need room for our mower, and that school bus has to go," said Al Meneely, Finley school superintendent about a 1950 9-passenger bus. The school has 15 acres of grass.
