WALLA WALLA -- Alex Estes and Liz Judy had 20 kills apiece as Richland beat Sunnyside (forfeit), Bishop Kelly (25-10, 25-20), La Grande (25-11, 25-14), Weston-McEwen (25-10, 25-23), Walla Walla (25-13, 25-19) and Pendleton (25-14, 28-26) on Saturday to place first at the Northwest Invite volleyball tournament.
Estes, Judy and Krysta Olberding -- who had 81 assists and 27 digs -- were named to the all-tournament team.
Karis Gamache had 49 kills and went 24-for-24 serving for Pasco, and the Bulldogs beat Bishop Kelly in three games, but lost matchups to both Pendleton and Weston-McEwen to take a fifth-place finish.

AUBURN -- Kristi Beyer had 20 kills on the day and helped Kamiakin take seventh place at the Puget Sound Adidas Volleyball tournament at Auburn-Mountain View High School.

RICHLAND -- Whenever the Southridge volleyball team needed a jolt offensively Thursday night, Shelby Warner provided it.
Warner finished with a season-high 18 kills as the Suns defeated Hanford 25-18, 25-20, 25-15 in a CBBN 3A road match. With the victory, Southridge moved into a second-place tie with Hanford.

RICHLAND -- Things have gotten more interesting atop the CBBN 4A volleyball standings.
Alisha Bettinson had 25 kills and Lauren Joseph had 44 assists Tuesday night as Richland defeated visiting Wenatchee 24-26, 25-20, 20-25, 25-9, 15-12.
"It was a war," Bombers coach Bob Raidl said. "It was a war between two good teams."

RICHLAND -- The Richland volleyball team came up short in its quest to get back to the Class 4A state tournament, falling in five sets to Central Valley at home Tuesday.
The Bears knocked off the Bombers 18-25, 25-15, 25-15, 17-25, 16-14 to win the opening round match of the Class 4A Eastern Washington Regional.
"It's always tough to lose your match of the season at home," Richland coach Bob Raidl said. "We just really struggled closing out the fifth set. We were ahead 13-9 and just couldn't close it out.

KENNEWICK -- Those at the Kamiakin High School gym Tuesday night witnessed a piece of history when the Southridge volleyball team swept the Braves.
According to Southridge coach John Lengphounpraseut, whose team won 25-21, 29-27, 26-24, the Suns earned their first-ever victory at Kamiakin.
"It's kind of nice (to beat the Braves at home)," Lengphounpraseut said. "I know I tried for the last nine years."

YAKIMA -- Richland finished second overall out of a field of 32 teams on Saturday at the SunDome Invite in Yakima, losing to West Valley 25-20, 25-18 in the championship. Alisha Bettinson had 42 kills, 14 aces and 44 digs.
Meghan McIntyre had 33 kills on the day and Maddie Zinsli dealt out 59 assists to as Kennewick placed 10th overall.
