One of the worst rooms in the Toyota Center the last few years was the visitor's dressing room (which actually is two rooms).
Not any more.
At their own expense, the American made a few upgrades for visiting teams, installing carpet tiles and shower tiles. The owners of the building ponied up and painted the walls and new stalls are coming soon -- on the Americans' dime.
I got a tour of the upgrades Wednesday, and having seen the rooms before in their tattered state, I think incoming teams will appreciate the effort.
GM Bob Tory said it was a matter of courtesy to the teams that use the dressing room.

The annual New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball gets under way at 8:30 p.m. Dec. 31 at Hamley's Steakhouse and Saloon, 8 S.E. Court St., Pendleton.
The event is open to the 21 and older crowd only. Cost is $15 and includes hors d'oeuvres, desserts, a no-host bar, photos, party favors and a balloon drop at midnight along with a champagne toast.
Music will be provided by Tyler Bushman in the Cattle Baron room and Wheat Town in the Slickfork Saloon.
