You still have a chance to catch top name entertainment and scrumptious food at the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo, at the Kennewick fairgrounds on 10th Avenue.
Night Ranger will rock the main entertainment starting at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 28. And on Aug. 29, it'll be country singer Bucky Covington who'll liven up the stage. The concerts come with fair admission but reserved seats cost an additional $8.
And the Gran Jaripeo is a new addition to fair events this year begins Aug. 30. Once the animals and exhibits are gone from the fairgrounds, families are invited to the Gran Jaripeo in the rodeo arena. The event is similar to a Hispanic rodeo but with a musical emphasis, said Hector Villalobos, the event producer, and president and CEO of Monterey, Calif.-based Villarom Inc. There will be riding, mutton busting, a carnival and musical entertainment throughout the day. Headlining the entertainment will be Carmen Jara.
The carnival opens at noon Sunday and the Gran Jaripeo gets under way at 3 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults or $4 for kids 6-12 if purchased in advance, or $12 for adults and $5 for kids 6-12 at the gate.
There is no transit service on Sunday.
Hours for the final two days of the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo are 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Aug. 28 and 9 a.m. to midnight Aug. 29. Admission is $12 for ages 13 and older general admission; $5 for ages 6-12 and senior citizens general admission; $13 for ages 13 and older for combo bus/fair; $6 for ages 6-12 and seniors combo bus/fair. The rodeo starts at 7 p.m. Aug. 28-29. Admission is $8 or free with fair admission. Parking is $5.
Save parking money and gas by taking a Ben Franklin Transit bus to the fairgrounds. Rides are $1.25 each way or $3.50 for a family of three or more. Kids age 5 and younger ride free with adults. Advance tickets are available at all Tri-City area Albertsons stores, Yoke's Fresh Markets, Ranch & Home store on Columbia Center Boulevard and the fair office.

Spinning around on rides and eating all the corn dogs, curly fries, barbecue and snow cones is one fun -- and certainly expensive -- way to take in the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo.
But, it doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg. There are lot of free activities to keep kids and their parents entertained.
Kids' Day is the perfect way for families on a budget to still get to experience all the fair has to offer. Today tickets are $2 for kids ages 6-12, a $3 savings from regular admission. It's always free for those 5 or younger.

Walla Walla Frontier Days officially opens Aug. 31 and continues through Sept. 4 at the Walla Walla County Fairgrounds, off Ninth Avenue.
