Hal Holbrook portraying Mark Twain in a one-man show -- titled Mark Twain Tonight -- is one of five productions the Toyota Center is bringing to the Tri-Cities for its 2009-10 Broadway Series.
Holbrook introduced theater lovers to the wit and wisdom of Twain nearly 50 years ago when he first presented the show in an off-Broadway theater.
Holbrook, 84, is an Emmy and Tony award-winning actor. He also earned an Oscar nomination for his supporting role in the 2007 movie Into the Wild.
Here's a look at the season:
◗ Oct. 14: The Rat Pack is Back is a spirited tribute to Las Vegas' favorite sons Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr. and Joey Bishop. The show is packed with all the nuances of a time when the Rat Pack was the most renowned and free-wheeling nightclub act on the circuit. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
◗ Jan. 29: Holbrook in Mark Twain Tonight! Show is at 8 p.m.
◗ March 3: Camelot is one of Broadway's more enchanting productions and tells a musical story of a love triangle involving King Arthur, Guinevere and Sir Lancelot.
◗ April 5: Cabaret is the scintillating story of the Kit Kat Club in Berlin during World War II, and how one of the dancers in the club is determined to make the audience forget the haunts of war and let loose.
◗ May 19: Cirque Dreams Illumination is an all-new show packed with acrobats, contortionists, daredevils, musicians and more. The show is suitable for the entire family.
