Dust Devils win again in Vancouver

By the Herald staff

VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- The Tri-City Dust Devils pounded out 13 hits on their way to a 10-3 victory over host Vancouver on Monday night.

Tri-City (34-23) has now taken three of the first four games in the five-game series with the finale this afternoon.

The Dust Devils, who lead the Northwest League East Division by 71/2 games over Boise (26-30) and Spokane (26-30), had five players with multiple hits, including three from Jeremiah Sammy.

Shortstop Joey Wong had two hits -- both doubles -- to raise his average to .217.

Sheng-An Kuo went five innings, allowing three runs on three hits to pick up his second victory of the season. Kuo's last win came June 21 against Eugene.

Tri-City, which beat the Canadians 8-3 on Sunday, broke the game open with a four-run eighth inning.
