Who's left on the coaching carousel?

With the Americans promoting Terry Virtue to associate coach and former Everett coach John Becanic taking an assistant job with the Seattle Thunderbirds, it leaves one (or many of us) to wonder who is on Tory's short list.

Tory has kept a tight grip on his coaching candidate's list, and being that we are not BFFs, that list has not shown up in my e-mail.

Former Lethbridge coach Michael Dyck could have been a possibility, but sources have it he's off the short list.

That, my friends leaves Jim Hiller -- former assistant for the Americans before he took off for Chilliwack. If I were a betting person, that's where my 2 cents would be.

Jim is quiet and does not rule with the same iron fist as former coach Don Nachbaur. That could be a concern. With expectations high after the last two seasons, it has to be the right coach and a good fit with the talent coming back.

I personally thought Becanic may have been a good choice. He's organized, is a planner and doesn't take a lot of crap. Everett fans voiced their opinions that he was no Kevin Constantine (he was one of a kind), but he's still a good coach. Seattle will benefit from his knowledge.
