Tri-Cities Fever linebacker Chris Hemphill was named the areanfootball2 league's defensive player of the week Tuesday.
The rookie from the University of Washington had an interception return for a touchdown and two fumble recoveries in the Fever's 76-35 victory over Central Valley last Saturday night -- the season finale for both teams.
In seven games this season, Hemphill had five interceptions and was second on the team in tackles with 28.5.
