Kyle Sani had three RBIs, Andrew Mendenhall and Casey Hooper each had a double and the Kennewick Bandits shut out the Twin City Titans 10-0 at the AAA American Legion state tournament in Tacoma.
"All aspects of game, they're coming around and, like I said, the hitting has just been amazing and the offense has gone crazy," said Bandits coach Gary Key.
The crossriver rivals entered the matchup riding tournament-opening wins - Kennewick beat the Yakima Beetles 22-4 on Saturday, and Twin City routed the Spokane Blue Devils 13-3.
Matt Minnich went 2-for-3 and doubled for the now-endangered Titans (35-21), who fall to 1-1 - and the losers' bracket - in the double-elimination tournament.
The Bandits (41-16) will play Lakeside Recovery, which beat the Yakima Valley Pepsi Pak 4-3 in 13 innings, at 7 p.m. today.
