Steve David won his second consecutive Columbia Cup championship on Sunday, earning his fourth consecutive heat of the weekend on the banks of the Columbia River.
David won in the U-1 Oh Boy! Oberto, the defending national champion.

The House of Representatives passed today passed a bill 55-43 legalizing same-sex marriage in Washington state.
The bill passed the Senate a week ago. It now goes to Gov. Chris Gregoire for signature.
The bill would make Washington the seventh state in the nation, plus the District of Columbia, to allow gay couples to marry.

3 irrigation district incumbents re-elected
Three irrigation district incumbents were re-elected Tuesday to three-year terms.
Unofficial results for the Kennewick Irrigation District showed David McKenzie, the current board president, with 780 votes. His challengers Kirk Higginson received 41 votes and Jim Wade had 40 votes.
The Columbia Irrigation District voting gave Division 4 incumbent Jim Gose 119 votes, defeating challenger Wayne Ehlers with 19 votes.

Richland council OKs Lamb Weston land swap
The Richland City Council on Tuesday agreed to a deal that lets ConAgra Lamb Weston build a warehouse in Horn Rapids while the city gets back a piece of waterfront land to market to another developer.
The deal allows Lamb Weston to trade 8.6 acres it bought at Columbia Point for 80 acres in the Horn Rapids Industrial Park.
The frozen potato processor closed on the $1.43 million parcel at Columbia Point last year after more than three years of negotiations, and city staffers said the land at Horn Rapids would sell for about the same amount.
