Whether you're looking for a one-of-a-kind beaded necklace, an original watercolor painting or a whimsical sculpture for the garden, the place to find it will be the Art in the Park Show July 24-25.
The show -- The Allied Arts Association's 59th annual event -- will be held under the shade trees in Howard Amon Park on Lee Boulevard in Richland. Admission is free.
More than 200 artists this year are coming from all over the country.
"Many favorite artists are returning but there's probably 20 to 25 who are new to the show," said show director Jennifer Hickman.
The show features a variety of arts and crafts ranging from tie-dyed clothing to windsocks, metal sculpture to handbeaded jewelry, scented lotions to perfumed candles.
A handful of artists will be demonstrating their arts and crafts during the show so be sure to stop, watch and ask questions.
The Art in the Park Show runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. July 24 and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 25.
The juried art show is a fundraiser for The Allied Arts Association.
Parking near and at the show site is limited. Your best option is to catch one of the Ben-Franklin Transit shuttle buses. The buses are handicapped accessible and run every few minutes from the parking lots at Fran Rish Stadium at Richland High School to Carmichael Middle School in Richland to the Richland Community Center. Cost is $1.25 each way, per person, or $3.50 each way, for a family of three or more. Children 5 and under ride free.

The Tri-Cities Quilters Guild annual show runs through Jan. 28 at the Allied Arts Gallery, 89 Lee Blvd., Richland.
A reception for the quilt artists is from 1 to 3 p.m. Jan. 8 at the gallery. The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free.

Richland artist Thelma Triplett recently was presented with the 2011 Condotta Award from the Allied Arts Gallery.
The award is given annually to an artist who has exhibited in the gallery during the previous year. Triplett was recognized for her originality, mastery of technique, and quality of execution and presentation.
The Condotta Award was established by Leola Condotta in memory of her husband Denny, who died in 2004. The couple were avid supporters of the Tri-City arts community, said Bob Allen, a spokesman for Allied Arts Association.

Sister artists Kay O'Rourke and Gina Freuen will be the featured artists through September at the Allied Arts Gallery in Richland.
The siblings are from the Spokane area. Freuen is primarily a potter and O'Rourke is mostly a painter, though each delves into an eclectic mix of artworks.
A reception for the artists is from 1 to 3 p.m. Sept. 11 at the gallery, 89 Lee Blvd. Admission is free.

Steve Henderson, Roberta Zimmerman and Shanna Fledderjohann are the featured artists at the Allied Arts Gallery during the month of October.
Henderson is a nationally-known artist from Dayton whose landscape and seascape paintings are representational to his Eastern Washington topics.
He also spent time in the Andes Mountains in Colombia, where he painted a 300-foot canvas roll of Bible stories for a local pastor who planned to carry the canvas through the countryside and teach from it.
