YAKIMA -- The Kennewick Bandits beat the Spokane Northstars 19-9 in a AAA American Legion baseball super regional matchup Sunday afternoon at Parker Field to advance to the state tournament in Tacoma.
The Bandits will be joined at state by Central Washington League foe the Twin City Titans after they edged Lakeside Recovery 8-6 in their super regional game at Newport High School in Bellevue.
The Bandits got six RBIs from Joe Driver and Andrew Mendenhall added four more as the Bandits 10-runned Spokane in the bottom of the seventh.
Trux French and Thomas Henderson added two RBIs apiece for the Bandits (39-16).
The Titans' Shawn O'Brien had three RBIs and Cody Shepherd added two more for Twin City.

AA Legion district
KENNEWICK -- Ashton Payne and Dan Scheibe had two RBIs apiece as the Hanford Flames beat the Walla Walla Bruins 8-3 in a loser-out game at the AA American Legion district tournament at LaPierre Field in Kennewick.
Hanford was limited to three hits by Kennewick pitcher Joe Flores in a 5-1 loss to the Dusters in an earlier game.
Hanford and Kennewick will have rematch at 3 p.m. today at LaPierre with the winner earning a berth at state.
A.J. Henderson went 3-for-3 with two doubles, Ty Jackson had three RBIs and Kennewick Bandits delivered a 12-0 whipping to West Valley in an elimination game at Southridge High School.
The Junior Bandits will return to the field 5 p.m. today to take on the Yakima Valley Peppers with a spot at state on the line.
