Prugh breaks Kamiakin grad's Rosauers Open record

SPOKANE -- Corey Prugh shot a third round of 66 for a total of 192 to win the 22nd Rosauers Open Invitational and set a tournament record at Indian Canyon Golf Course in Spokane.

The Manito Golf and Country Club professional topped by a stroke the record established by Kamiakin grad Scott Johnson in 2004.

Prugh began the day with a five-stroke lead, having shot two straight rounds of 63.

Vancouver professional Brian Nosler of Vanco Driving Range finished second with a 196 (68-66-62, $7,350).

Other Mid-Columbian earners: Jason Aichele of Meadow Springs, took ninth with 202 (69-67-66, $2,955); Indian Canyon's Adam Syverson, of Sunnyside, tied at 25th with 207 (73-68-66, $1,440); Canyon Lakes amateur Kevin Tucker, tied for 50th with 212 (68-73-71, $87.50); Horn Rapids amateur Ryan Dahl, of Richland, tied at 67 with a 214 (73-72-69, $25) and Walla Walla Country Club's Brady Sharp tied at 76th with a 216 (75-70-71, $425).
