Legion roundup: Hanford Flames place second

WALLA WALLA -- After playing one of their best games of the summer in the semifinals, the Hanford Flames had a letdown in the Walla Walla Sweet Onion baseball tournament championship Sunday against Walla Walla, losing 14-4 to finish second.

Pitcher Nick Betzsold shined in a 4-0 semifinal win over Columbia Basin, striking out four and giving up just three hits.

Nick French had a pair of hits for the Flames.

BELLEVUE -- Jamison Rowe led off the bottom of the fifth with a base hit, Josh Rapacz moved him to third with single, and Brett Jacobs brought Rowe home on a double play ball, but that was it for Twin City as the Titans fell 15-1 to Longview Red Lion and earned a fourth-place finish at the Brandy Pugh Tournament.
