Legion roundup: Flames reach Walla Walla tourney semis

By the Herald staff

WALLA WALLA -- Brian Elzie's bases-clearing double in the top of the eighth inning broke a 7-all tie as the Hanford Flames defeated the Bellevue Baseball Club 10-8 on Saturday at the Walla Walla Sweet Onion Invitational.

Nick French added two hits and four RBIs for the Flames, who are 3-1 in the tournament and are in the semifinals starting at 8:30 a.m. today.

Meanwhile, Morgan Heiman kept Columbia Basin's powerful lineup in check, but Pasco couldn't scrape together enough runs against the River Dogs and fell 3-2.
