PASCO -- The battery of Emilio Valdez and Cody Rush combined for four hits in the second game for Pasco as it scored in the bottom of the seventh to edge visiting Moses Lake for a 6-5 victory and a doubleheader split in Junior American Legion action in the Central Washington League.

SEATTLE -- Justin Simmons threw for a score and ran for another, but the Chiefs couldn't keep pace in their season opener with the Vikings (2-0) at Century Link Field.
Simmons connected on a 6-yard scoring toss to A.J. Johnson, and a two-point conversion gave Moses Lake a brief 8-7 first-quarter lead.
According to the Coeur d'Alene Press, Moses Lake quarterback Justin Simmons passed for 176 yards and a touchdown. He rushed for a second score. He also lost three fumbles.

He was born in Othello and always lived in Othello or Moses Lake.
He was a retired school and private music teacher.
