Posted: 3:00am on Jun 26, 2009

The Cool Desert Nights open city car cruise leaves from the TRAC facility in Pasco on June 26 at 5 p.m.

The stream of classic cars, which have come from different parts of the country, will head to Kennewick for a slow drive through the downtown area then move on to Columbia Park.

From the park the cars cruise to the end of Columbia Park Trail then catch Highway 240 into Richland, where they will gather at the Dairy Queen on Jadwin Avenue.

A street dance featuring Mike Harvey's Super Gold show, starts at 9 p.m. at the south end of the Uptown Shopping Center parking lot, off George Washington Way. Admission to the show is $10 at the door.

Then on June 27, a pancake breakfast kicks off the day's events from 7 to 11 a.m. at Jefferson Park, which is across the street from the Uptown. Cost is $5.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be various events happening in the Uptown including several mini show 'n' shines.

From 8 to 11 p.m. there'll be another street dance featuring Randy Linder from Creedence Clearwater Revivial fame. Cost is $10 at the door.

Advance tickets are available at The Maurer Group office, 3311 W. Clearwater Ave., Suite C100, or the Tri-Cities Chamber of Commerce across from the Convention Center in Kennewick.
